Hockey Techniques

Today we learnt a range of hockey skills.

First we learnt how to hold the hockey stick. We had to hold the black part with our left and we had to hold the shaft with our right hand.

Next we learnt how to dribble with the hockey stick. We had to use the front part of the hockey to hit the ball on one side and we had to rotate our hand anticlock wise to hit the ball on the other side.

After we learnt two skills to pass, the push pass and the sweep pass. The push pass had to touch the ball and be between your legs and the sweep pass we had to drag the ball outside of our legs.

Lastly we learnt how to trap the ball. You have to bend your knees and use the big part of the hockey stick to trap the ball.

I enjoyed this because I learnt a range of hockey skills. I need to improve on touching the ball when I do a push pass. I did good on trapping the ball because I used the big part of the hockey stick to trap it.

SSR Selfie – Ninja Kid 6

I read 10 minutes of the book called Ninja Kid 6 made by Anh Do.

This book was about Nelson and Kenny had been shrunk by Grandma’s size converter so they can’t go on the scarest Halloween ride.

This book was intresting because they only can be back to normal size if the size converter is fully charged.

Manners

Manners are used for showing respect to others.

First we talked and explain about manner as a class.

Next we had to use a website that make a word cloud. You can use manners when someone give something to you or greets you.

Lastly we took picture showing manners. Manners can be showed by listening, eating with your mouth closed, and saying please.

I enjoyed this task because it used words that are nice. I need to improve on saying thank you when someone opens the door. I am good at saying your welcome when someone says thank you.

Verb time Tenses

We learnt to use simple, continuous, and perfect tenses in sentences.

First we wrote simple, continuous, and perfect sentences.

Next we took pictures of our group showing simple, continuous, and perfect.

Simple means a event that generally happens.

Continuous means a period of unstopping action.

Perfect means a period of time.

I enjoyed this task because it help me remember my tense states. I need to improve on remembering my perfect tense. I did well on remembering my continuous because you just had to add an ing.

Summarising the Main Idea: Reading a boat

We did a task called summarisrising the main idea. We had to summarise each page of the book Reading a Boat.

First we had to find key words on each page around the paragraph. A key word is a word that unlocks a meaning of a sentence so it help you under stand the text.

Next we make the key words into: What, Where, When, Who, Why, and How.

Lastly we summarise each page with the key words that we used.

I enjoyed doing this task because it help me to summarise a text. I did well on the What, Where, When, Who, Why, and How because I used keywords to help me complete it.
